Hey,
Wondering if anyone knows of anywhere that sells Braille wordsearch books. I can get a few a month in a magazine which has all kinds of crosswords and puzzles in it, but I'd really like to find any books just dedicated to wordsearches.
If anyone has any ideas or can help Please let me know.
Thanks
try National Braille Press
www.nbp.org
they sell a couple.
If I think of any more, I'll post them.
thanks, that's great, *smile*
How about the braille book store? Maybe they sell some.
What magazine is this you mention? Sounds cool!
Once for a friend, I created a word search book. It was a surprise, I think it had about a dozen puzzles in it.
When I was a kid, my braille teacher use to make them for me often. It is my fave kind of puzzle!
I looked at national braille press, but I can't seem to find anything... The magazine is called conundrum. It is produced by the RNIB in the UK, and has word searches, crosswords, su doku, and other word puzzles in it. It comes out every month and they will send internationally. I don't know how much they are for international subscription though.
Yeah, I get Conundrum, and I LOVe the word searches. I can't find any books with just word searches, either. Can anyone explain how to do a braille crossword like thosein Conundrum?
To the last poster and anyone else wondering, I didn't get how to do the crossword puzzles myself. But at the beginning of each clue there is a number and letter in parentheses, and that will tell you the row and column respectively, of where your first letter of that word should go. I found out the easiest way to work out the crossword puzzles, is to use a paper with slate and stylus to braille the answers; that way you can use the cells as a sort of grid. Hope that helps. *smile*
Nice idea. Unfortunately i haven't seen any books or magazines in Braille just dedicated to word searches. It's very annoying really, because I've seen loads of print ones, but they don't scan too well.
As far as the crossword question goes, you could try putting it all in to a spreadsheet
